Backpacks & School SuppliesWe are very thankful for Courtney and her friends who donated school supplies and backpacks for the children around the city garbage dump. The children start their new school year in January, so this will be a huge blessing for these families! Food BagsLast month, we asked our missionaries in Guatemala to make a list of families they knew that were struggling and were in need of food. Our team came up with a list of 20 families. Thanks to Courtney, Bekah, and Ben's family and friends, we were able to bless these families yesterday with a large bag full of food. After giving them the food, we had a time of fellowship and prayer with each family. Please join us in praying for these families!

Merry Christmas from the Pure Joy Missions team! We hope you have a wonderful Christmas, celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
![]() Greetings!! It has been another busy year for Pure Joy Missions, full of changes and new beginnings. I am so pleased to say that these changes have allowed Pure Joy to grow more than I thought possible! God has been so faithful in providing Pure Joy with staff that love Him and have a deep desire to serve Him and His children. Our director in Guatemala, Pastor Roni, has done an amazing job leading this organization daily. We have also added three women, Heidy, Yeni, and Ana, to our team this year. These women have been such a blessing! Their compassion, humility, organization, and tender hearts have added so much to each ministry. Each member of our team is truly handpicked by God. We are so thankful for them! The vision of Pure Joy Missions is to bring healing and hope to communities by sharing the love and joy found in Jesus Christ. Our greatest desire is to see hearts transformed for the Kingdom. We hope and pray that the community of Puerto Barrios will be transformed by the Gospel. Guatemala is a country known for its poverty, corruption, and crime. We know that the only way this will change is through the power of Christ. We pray that through our discipleship efforts, lives will be changed one by one and hope will be cultivated in this community. Our weekly visits to the nursing home, senior center, orphanage, city garbage dump and special needs school have continued to open doors to new relationships and opportunities to share Christ’s love. Thanks to the generosity of many, we have also been able to meet different needs in the community, from helping families at the dump with medical expenses to providing supplies to local schools and much more. When I went to visit Puerto Barrios this past August, I was amazed by the number of people who came up to me and thanked me for specific things they received over the course of the year— from a doctor's office visit and medication for their child to uniforms for school, they remembered the smallest of things and were so grateful. We are so thankful we can meet these needs and show God’s provision in the lives of these families. Project VALOR, the middle/high school sponsorship program, is quadrupling in size next year! We are so excited to see what God will do in the lives of these teens, both through continuing their education and through discipleship. This year, two of the girls in the program asked Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. As this program grows next year, please cover it in prayer! In June, we started a new program to reach the children living in the area surrounding the city garbage dump. Every Monday afternoon, the children and teens gather at the school for "Club Exploradores," a program that teaches biblical values and Bible stories. The program also gives the children an outlet to just be kids— to play games, to win prizes, and most importantly, to be loved. A few weeks ago, after hearing the story of Noah, 16 students were moved by God’s faithfulness and asked Jesus into their hearts. What a blessing it is to see hearts turning to their Creator! All of these ministries are possible because of individuals like you. We ask that you would prayerfully consider how God can use you to bless His children in Guatemala. All of your support will go towards supporting our missionaries and the needs of each ministry. We rely on donations to keep this ministry growing. Any amount, big or small, will help us reach our budget goal and allow us to keep a constant presence in each ministry. One time donations can be made online at www.purejoymissions.org/donate (or click on the button below) or by sending checks made payable to Pure Joy Missions to 316 Golf Course Road, Milton PA 17847. We are also in need of monlthy supporters. Any pledged amount will allow us to plan better for what we are able to do next year. If you are interested in becoming a monthly sponsor, please fill out the contact form below. We will then contact you with more information. We are so grateful for you and the support you have given to get us to this point. All the glory to God, for He is so good. We are grateful for this opportunity to be His hands and feet. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas! With love & joy, Kathy Jacobs & The Board of Pure Joy Missions Founder & Executive Director of Pure Joy Missions Celebrating Christmas at the nursing home and senior center is one of our favorite things to do each year! It's a time where we all come together to rejoice in our Savior's birth. It's a time where we can show love to the elderly and remind them that they are loved and cared for by us and by our Lord. What a joy it is to see the elderly smile as they sing, cry tears of joy as they open up their presents, and have a renewed hope that only comes from Jesus.
The past two years have been extra special because the children from the city garbage dump come with us to visit the elderly. They prepare and perform a program, help hand out presents, and share love with the elderly through hugs and laughter. It's such an example of how love can multiply. Our supporters in the states allow us to do this work. Our Guatemalan missionaries teach and love on the children every week year round. Then these children go out to the community and share love with the elderly. All of this is possible because God has shown us what love is by sending His Son. We believe this is just the beginnning of love multiplying. God has so much in store for this community, and we are excited to be a part of it. Happy Birthday, Jesus. We love you. Last Friday we celebrated the last day of Club Exploradores for 2016. We are so grateful for this program and the impact it is having on these children. We celebrated on Friday by sharing a meal with the kids and some of their parents. We also had a "tienda" where the children spent the tickets they earned over the past few months. At the final Club Exploradores party, Evelyn recited 18 Bible verses and knew all of the people from the Bible they learned about. As a reward, we took her shopping! We are so very proud of her and her hard work!
Thank you so much for your support! Your support allows us to share God's love with these children. |
