Project VALOR 2017!

This year, Pure Joy Missions started a new program called “Project VALOR,” a sponsorship program where the students living around the city dump have an opportunity to go to middle and high school. It has been amazing to see how God is using this program to reach His children and give them hope. Not only are these students receiving more education, they are also learning about Christ and His love for them. Two of the girls in the program asked Jesus to be their Savior this year! 

Last year, there was a small graduating class of sixth graders, and five students continued onto middle school through our program. This year, 16+ students are graduating from elementary school and all of them want to continue onto middle school! We are so excited that they want to continue their education and that their parents see the value in education, but they cannot do it without help.

To be honest, when Pastor Roni told me there were 16+ students, I was quite overwhelmed— happy and excited but at the same time stressed and anxious about how we could make this a reality for these children! I desire to see all these students continue their education— to middle school, high school, and beyond— but I knew financially, we were not at the point where we could afford to send all these kids to school. However, as one of my friends reminded me, just as God provided this year, He will continue to provide, because He loves His children!

I truly believe that education combined with the hope and joy of Christ will transform these children’s lives and futures.

We need your help to keep these kids in school. For $45/month, you can sponsor a child’s school expenses and transportation fees. In addition, your donation will pay for their lunches at the tutoring program. If you are unable to give the full $45/month, a donation of any amount will go towards helping this program continue. All donations are tax-deductible. Our goal is to have committed sponsors for the children by September, so they can take the necessary testing in October. Monthly support will begin in October of 2016.
