Over the last couple years, we have invested a lot of time and love into the children at the school by the dump. We have worked with them at school, visited with them in their homes, built relationships with their families, shared God's word with them, and walked with them through good times and difficult times. Although not all days have been easy, these children have been true gifts to us. We feel blessed that God has allowed us to be a part of their lives. Our desire is to see these children feel the love of Christ and put their trust in Him. Over the last several weeks, the children have been practicing a song and dance program to share with the elderly at the nursing home. They have visited the nursing home before with us, and they were excited to do it again. When asked how they felt about visiting the elderly, one of the children said, it isn’t just about the songs and dances but it’s about helping the elderly too. Others talked about how they wanted to share love and joy with them. The elderly often feel alone and forgotten, so for them to have visits from children that care about them means so much. Their visit on Tuesday brought Don Armando (in the picture below) to tears. These children have so little, but yet they look at the elderly and sense their pain. The compassion they have is something we could all learn from. We praise God for working in these children's lives and hearts. God's heart is so evident inside of them. Because of people like you who pray for and support the ministry and our missionaries, we have been able to reach these children. And because these children now know and feel God's love, they are able to share their joy and love with the elderly. It's amazing how, when united, the body of Christ multiplies and flourishes.
